AFRIFF Awards: Bolanle Austen-Peters celebrates as she wins Best Feature Film award

Bolanle Austen Peters, a Nigerian director, celebrates with pride after winning the AFRIFF Awards’ Best Feature Film category.

The Oriental Hotel in Lagos hosted the Africa International Film Festival’s (AFRIFF) awards presentation on Saturday.

Film professionals including as Lateef Adedimeji, Mo Bimpe, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Kate Henshaw, Kunle Afolayan, Segun Arinze, Rita Dominic, Uche Jombo, and AFRIFF creator Chioma Ude attended the event.

The filmmaker dedicated her best script and best feature film prize for Funmilayo: The Lioness of Lisabi to the family of the late campaigner Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.

Bolanle posted a video of the occasion and said, “God has got her back.” She added that she and her group had every reason to celebrate because they had a fantastic film on an amazing subject.

She expressed her gratitude to everyone who helped make the film a success.
