Bride’s father returns bride price to groom with warning

A father who was filmed giving his son-in-law a sharp warning while returning his daughter’s bride price on the wedding day has caused a stir online.

The Nigerian father attended his daughter’s wedding with the bride price in tow. He gave the man his bride price back along with a note cautioning him to take excellent care of his child.

He was seen assuring the man that the funds would act as a dowry for him, allowing them to supplement their existing resources and ensure that the wife doesn’t go hungry.

They also threatened to invade his home and reclaim his wife if she ever went hungry.
