Dangote, Dantata, and others get new appointments in Kano state

Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje appointed Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, his uncle, Aminu Dantata. And Abdulsamad Rabi’u to the state Zakkat and Hubsi Commission on Wednesday.

Zakkat refers to a Muslim’s responsibility to contribute a particular percentage of his or her money to charitable charities each year.

 

According to NAN, this included a statement from the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba.

Dr. AbdulMutallab Ahmed is the Commission’s first commissioner. While Dr. Lawi Sheikh Atiq is the Commission’s second commissioner.

The development follows the Kano State Executive Council’s acceptance of the reformed Board of Kano Zakkat and Hubsi Commission. With Dr Ibrahim Mu’azzam Maibushira as Executive Chairman.

 

Other members include representatives from the state’s five Emirate Councils. The Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Kurmi, Rimi, Kwari, and Singer markets, in that order.

 

In addition. the commissioner revealed that the council had authorized the formation of the Committee for Screening of International Islamic Organizations.

Prof. Sani Zaharaddeen, Kano’s Chief Imam, will serve as Chairman. Dr Muhammad Adamu, Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Co-Chairman, and Auwalu Yakasai, Secretary.
