“I lost movie roles because they said I was ‘not fine’”– Funke Akindele
Veteran Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has discussed how she wasn’t picked out for roles in some important films because they didn’t think she was “fine.”

In a recent episode of Toke Moments, hosted by television personality Toke Makinwa, Funke Akindele begin by discussing this.
The actress claimed that her face appearance led to her being passed over for roles in even Yoruba films. She had been in tears since the movie makers had only given her minor roles.
She claimed that anytime she disagreed with movie producers who rejected her due to her physical looks, her colleague Iyabo Ojo would always step in to support her.

Akindele said:
“I remember people telling me, ‘You are not fine. You don’t have ass. You don’t have boobs. You will not be in this film. And, I remember crying. A lot of times I would cry, break down, get into the bathroom and cry.”
