In ogun, pastor was arrested for reportedly raping a church member during a deliverance service

Mathew Oladapo, a Nigerian pastor, has been detained by personnel from the Ogun State Police Command. For allegedly raping a 19-year-old member of his church.

Oladapo, the pastor in charge of Life and Power Bible Church Ogijo. Reportedly had illicit carnal knowledge of a church member during a deliverance session at the church, according to reports.

He informed the victim that he had a vision in which he saw her having a spiritual husband, from whom she needed to be released. According to the victim, the pastor assured her that she would be fasting and praying at the church for three nights in order to have absolute deliverance. He also instructed her to bring 1,000 naira bills and anointing oil to the church.

According to the victim, on the first night of fasting and prayer, she was escorted to a chamber within the church. Where the pastor instructed her to remove her clothing and undergarments and lie down on a piece of cloth on the floor, which she did. The preacher began putting anointing oil on her body while she lay on the floor and slipped his finger into her private region. When she objected, the pastor pulled her down, covered her mouth, and forcibly had intercourse with her. Claiming that it was the only way to break the tie between her and the spirit spouse.

After the victim filed a complaint against him at the Ogijo Police Divisional Headquarters, Oladapo was arrested and jailed. During questioning. The suspect admitted to the crime but claimed to have been overcome by a spirit.

According to the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident. The commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the suspect’s immediate transfer to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department’s anti-human trafficking and child labor unit for further investigation and prosecution.
