Man kills his kinsman over bride price sharing formula in Imo

BRIDE PRICE: The IMO state police are currently on the trail of one Victor Iwu, for allegedly killing his kinsman, Bright Odi, over the sharing formula of the bride price paid for one of their sisters in Umunze village, Obinze community, in the Owerri Local Government Area of Imo State on Monday, November 30.

When this problem occurred, the police were oblivious not until it got to the eyes of the police where it was investigated by the police.

Regarding the reports, one of their sisters was recently given out in marriage, and as expected her husband paid the bride price to her family. While sharing the bride price, an argument ensured between victor and Bright. The argument soon degeneration into a fight and in the process, Victor kicked Bright, an electrician, in his scrotum.

The fight was an open fight where bright felt unconscious and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

People that were present say Bright lost consciousness and was immediately rushed to the hospital where the doctors on duty confirmed him dead the next day Tuesday, December 1.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the suspect is currently on the run and would soon be apprehended.

Ikeokwu said the matter has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

When the matter is transferred to the state criminal investigation, the Problem will be set to know if the case will be ameliorated or not.

A case like this should be taken into consideration because it is weird how a man with learning will have to kill his fellow man because of a man.
