Recently, the player was granted an indefinite leave of absence so he could concentrate on defending himself after Gabriela Cavallin, his ex-girlfriend, accused him of obscene domestic abuse.

Manchester United made this announcement in response to the team’s persistently poor performance in contests and the contentious standoff between coach Erik Ten Hag and another winger, Jadon Sancho.

Because of the alleged abuses, Gabriela Cavallin first denounced Antony to the Brazilian authorities before reporting him to the Greater Manchester Police.

Although Antony has refuted every accusation made against him, Gabriela Cavallin claims to have witnesses she can contact.

Neither the Greater Manchester Police nor the Brazilian police have issued a statement claiming that the accused was found guilty. Antony has cooperated with the authorities up until the moment the statement was provided, according to Manchester United.

Manchester United allegedly paid Mason Greenwood his full wage while denying him access to the team’s competition during the period he was charged with domestic abuse. The process appeared to be the same in Antony’s case as well, but it appears the club is now more concerned with goals than with potential feminist criticism to their present choice.

‘Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has cooperated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so.

As Antony’s employer, Manchester United has decided that he will resume training at Carrington, and be available for selection, while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case.

‘As a club we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse.’
