The UFC superstar Francis Ngannou’s decision to enter the boxing scene ignited a fire of enthusiasm among fans of Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts alike after his dispute with UFC president, Dana White (about money issues).

The legendary boxer Mike Tyson was the only person he chose to train him for his debut fight.

Tyson Fury, the WBC champion and one of boxing’s best, will face Ngannou in his debut match. Since they have seen Tyson Fury fight and are aware of both his strength and expertise, many people have been open about their prediction that he will lose.

The WBC champion not only has superior strength and stature, but he also has good footwork and lethal combinations of boxing methods developed over years of training to defeat opponents only with his fists and footwork.

During that period, Ngannou has been focusing on every part of his body to prepare for the kind of victory found only in the octagon.

The former UFC superstar recently gave a required press conference during which he discussed his experiences learning from Mike Tyson. However, he was asked what he was picking up from the former great.

His speech read:

A lot of things. I’ve known Mike Tyson since I don’t know how long, and I’ve met him a couple of times and to have him this time around, I’m like, ‘Ok?’ I was a little confused sometimes.

I’m like, ‘He’s not here just to watch.’ He’s here because of my fight and to help me, and he’s actually giving me instructions and stuff, and I’m like, ‘Man, this is actually Mike Tyson. I’m not tripping. It’s real.’ That’s how big this is.”

Additionally, the former UFC fighter appeared to declare his intention to utilize Mike Tyson’s methods.

“Obviously, in a couple of months, nobody has ever imitated Mike Tyson’s style and do it as best as him,’ Ngannou said. ‘It’s not something I’m going to do. But still, there are a lot of things that I’m learning from him. He wasn’t just good at knocking people out. He was very good at moving and his boxing technique.”

However, a lot of people believe that Francis Ngannou’s chances of winning are negligible. They envision it in the same visual style as Daniel Dubois’ most recent match against three-belt champion Olexandr Usyk.

Joe Joyce was one of many that discussed the result of the Ngannou-Fury fight.

I’m intrigued to see the fight. He has power,’ said Joyce who has sparred with both superstars while talking about Ngannou. ‘If you let him hit you, he can hit you really hard and it’s gonna hurt. Fury needs to keep on the ball, because he doesn’t want to get nailed by him.

Joyce continued, “Close the distance, work inside,” in an effort to explain how to win the fight. He has the ability to throw incredibly strong hooks and crosses, and when combined with what Mike Tyson is training him to do, I believe that will help him dodge Fury’s jab and long-range attacks. In heavyweight boxing, there is only one shot, so I’m particularly curious to see how it goes. It’s unlikely, but he has a chance because Daniel Dubois-Oleksandr Usyk had a similar situation.”
The fight takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 28.
