When Tonto Dikeh was revealed as Tonte Ibraye’s running mate for the African Democratic Congress in Rivers in the general elections of 2023, investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo poked fun at the controversial Nollywood actress.

The mother of one stated in an interview after the announcement that she is confident in her capacity to thrive in her new role as Deputy Governor of Rivers State since she has never failed in a leadership position.

She claimed that despite her failures in other areas of her life, she had never failed in her leadership.

“I’m not going to deny that I’ve failed in life. That has been observed by everybody. Will I fall short in my leadership, though? Have I been a bad leader? Talk about my foundation starting with parenthood and whether I’ve ever failed at it. I believe it was one of the institutions that defended this nation during the pandemic with no help at all. I took more action than the government did. She spoke partially.

However, journalist Kemi Olunloyo has questioned Tonto Dikeh as being unqualified to serve in that capacity, perhaps in response to her claim that she has never failed in leadership.

After she interviewed her ex-lover, Kpokpogri, a few weeks ago, the mother of one allegedly threatened Kemi Olunloyo on social media and that Tonto Dikeh could never be rebranded.
Kemi Olunloyo posted on her verified Twitter account, “Rivers State is NOT for sale or cruise. Tonto aspires to be the deputy governor in 2023. This woman came to Lagos just to bash me 60 days ago and threatened me as a journalist. She was cautioned to stop making threats by @LagosPoliceNG. Definitely not able to lead.
