Nine-month-old Armani Milby was born at 33 weeks through emergency C-section after being identified as having a severe form of lymphangioma, which results in benign growths in the lymph veins.

Her mother Chelsey compared her to the Marvel character Hulk.

Due to a very unusual congenital issue that caused people to mistakenly believe Armani’s mother was carrying triplets although she weighed more than 200 pounds while pregnant, Armani was born weighing 12 pounds, which is three times the typical weight for a newborn at that stage of gestation.

After an exam at the 17-week mark of the pregnancy, when physicians were worried about possible fluid around Armani’s heart, Chelsey, 33, from Kentucky, US, learned that Armani had the disease.

Chelsey said: “I had never, ever, heard of the diagnosis before and honestly, I had looked into it, and I didn’t really like the results with some of the pictures.

“When I found out, to be honest, I was devastated, I was heartbroken. I didn’t understand what happened, what went wrong, because I had two other healthy babies, and I cried every day. Every day, I asked God why.

“We never considered an abortion even though it was mentioned to us almost immediately after it was discovered there were some major concerns with our unborn baby, but we just wanted to know how we could help her when she was born.

“They literally gave her a zero percent chance. They said she wouldn’t make it and that she probably wouldn’t be crying when she came out.”

Despite the depressing diagnosis given by the medical professionals, Chelsey never lost hope for her unborn child, and fortunately for Armani, it is believed that her ailment is surgically recoverable.

After her birth, Armani and her family were transferred more than 100 miles to Cincinnati, where she spent three months in a specialized hospital and started to recuperate over all chances.

Armani is currently getting ongoing treatment to get rid of extra fluid in her body.

Later this year, Armani is set to have surgery to remove superfluous lymphatic vessels from her body, which will assist her body shrink down to the proper size. Over the following years, Armani will also have surgery to remove the additional skin.
