TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS…

Published

on

Toxic relationships come in many different forms.

They can be:
1. Romantic partners…
2. Parents…
3. Bosses…
4. Teachers…
5. Children…
6. Friends… the list goes on and on.

The key to maintaining your sanity is not convincing yourself that you “have to” remain in situations where you are treated poorly.

We often convince ourselves of this narrative and spend months – sometimes even years – making the choice to suffer through situations that are toxic for our souls hoping, praying, fighting, arguing, reporting, documenting, meeting with, crying about and pleading for the other person /people to change.

Remember that if you’re not changing your situation, YOU ARE CHOOSING IT..

Trying to debate someone who’s gaslighting you, or attempting to defend yourself against a narcissist, or point out dysfunctional behavior to a person who lacks insight is futile.

GASLIGHTING: Gaslighting is a tactic in which a person or entity, in order to gain more power, makes a victim question their reality. It works much better than you may think. Anyone is susceptible to gaslighting, and it is a common technique of abusers, dictators, narcissists, and cult leaders. It is done slowly, so the victim doesn’t realize how much they’ve been brainwashed. For example, in the movie Gaslight (1944), a man manipulates his wife to the point where she thinks she is losing her mind…

If YOU see it, that’s all that matters. Remove YOURSELF. Protect YOURSELF. Save YOURSELF, People can only do what you allow…

Stop expecting those around you to care for you in ways that you’re unwilling to care for yourself.

CHOOSE YOU EVERYTIME!!!.
