Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungar. Has announces a decision on weapon travelling through Hungary on their way to Ukraine

Has stated that western armament sales to Ukraine would not be permitted to go via Hungary.

“We have determined that such deliveries will not be permitted.” Orban said in a statement issued by the Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday night.

Hungary, a European Union and NATO member, has a 140-kilometer border with Ukraine. Which has been under attack by Russian soldiers since last week.

Victor Orban stated that his decision was predicated on the fact that more than 100,000 ethnic Hungarians live in the western Ukraine. Area of Zakarpattia, and that letting the shipments would jeopardize their security.

Orban is normally sympathetic to Russian President Vladimir Putin. But he has opposed neither EU sanctions on Russia in response to the invasion. Nor moves to provide arms to Ukraine.

However, his denunciation of the attack has been tepid(half hearted).

“It is in the interests of the Hungarian people that Hungary stay out of this figh.” Orban added in further remarks on Monday.
