Delta community conducts traditional cleansing, lays curse on cultists, ritualists and other criminals

RITUALISTS: In recent, there have been brutal killings in the city of Idjerhe, it was something that needs to be attended to, something that needs a voice.

With this, the people and the traditional tiller of Idjerhe kingdom in Ethiope west local Government if Delta State, his Royal Majesty, on Monday Obukowho Whiskey, have laid a curse on criminals especially the cultists behind killings in the community.

On Friday, December 18, there was a traditional cleansing ceremony performed as a result of the rising cases of cult-related killings alongside cases of internet fraud, kidnappings among other crimes in the community.

According to records, more than five people have died from cult-related issues since last month with some of their bodies brutally mutilated.

Native doctors from 42 communities of Idjerhe Kingdom gathered in Jesse, the traditional headquarters of Idjerhe on Friday, where they offered traditional prayers using duck, a puppy, and a cock while they pour libation against the development.

During the ceremony, the traditional ruler and members of the community lamented the growing cases of death as a result of cultism and internet fraud, asking the gods of the land to visit perpetrators of heinous crimes in the kingdom with calamity.

They’ve publicly warned indigenes who partake in the crime-related activities to immediately repent or strange illness will befall them.

This case has led to the consultation of the chief priest and other elders in the village, it has aroused to the extent that it now becomes unbearable for the villagers.

Before now, the village used to be a peaceful place, very serene, accommodating, and a home for all, not until the incessant killings of people by the cultists.
