Nollywood Actor Jim Iyke  speaks about the rumour making rounds that he has dumped Christianity for Islam.

This comes after a Twitter user shared a photo of Jim Iyke wearing a jalamia and holding a Muslim prayer bead referred to as Tasbih.

The tweet read: “I heard that the popular Nollywood actor ‘Jim Iyke’ has revert to Islam. Alhamdulillah!! Welcome to ISLAM, religion of peace. We welcome you wholeheartedly”

Reacting to the post, Jim Iyke in a video shared on his Instagram page refuted claims that he has converted to Islam.
According to Jim Iyke, he usually does not pay attention to some aimless rumours but there are certain lines that should not be crossed.

The actor added that he respects all religions but has no intention to convert his faith and that the rumours should be laid to rest.

In his word: “I felt it is necessary to address the elephant in the room that has been making the rounds lately. Usually, I don’t pay attention to these aimless rumours because they aren’t my cup of tea but certain lines shouldn’t be crossed. I made a movie in Ghana called ” Zanku boys” which would be out in July”

“The movie is about religious fanatics, someone took the pictures and it ended up with random bloggers who said I have converted. I respect all religions but I have no intention to convert my faith. I didn’t understand why someone wants to peddle these rumors, these are really serious issues. I have addressed it and it should be laid to rest. It never happened and I don’t intend for it to happen”

Her statements, however, caused quite a stir online as several people felt them to be highly provocative.

Kemi Olunloyo bashed her, pointing out that her mother dated pastors and governors when she was growing up, so it’s not all her fault but rather the result of her upbringing.

Go fix your dru.g problems. A video of you blowing nitrous oxide balloons with the Marlians is about to come out.

Young lady you can’t spike food or drinks with that. Go file charges against Naira Marley. You’re an adult. That’s not your mom’s job. Nothing lasts forever”
